Well lookie there, I finally got around to actually posting something!
This is a fairly recent piece I did for art class (I’m in Drawing II now). It was the first time I’d tried this method for creating values, that is, toning the paper with graphite (harvest from and courtesy of the pencil sharpener haha) and using kneaded eraser/white charcoal to create lighter values (regular charcoal for the darker ones). It’s…messy. But kinda fun? I’ll probably do it again in the future.
Word of advice: do not, I repeat, do NOT try to draw something that has been crocheted. It will frustrate you beyond imagination - yes, even more so than noses or feet or charcoal or whatever thing(s) is/are the bane(s) of your art career.
